Ruby Mental Wellness ADHD Assessment Process:
Initial Screening:
We begin with several validated questionnaires that evaluate attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and daily life challenges. These tools help us understand your history, current symptoms, and level of impairment.
Objective Testing with CNS Vital Signs:
If the initial screening suggests ADHD may be present, we move forward with computerized neurocognitive testing through CNS Vital Signs, a clinically validated tool used by medical professionals and researchers worldwide.
This testing battery takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and provides objective data across seven key cognitive domains:
- Verbal Memory: Your ability to encode, store, and recall spoken information
- Visual Memory: Your ability to recall visual patterns and images
- Processing Speed: How quickly and accurately your brain processes information
- Executive Functioning: Planning, organizing, inhibiting responses, and flexible thinking
- Attention: Sustained focus over time, filtering distractions
- Cognitive Flexibility: Your brain’s ability to shift between tasks and thoughts
- Reaction Time: How quickly you respond to stimuli, which reflects mental alertness
Interpretation and Follow-Up:
Your psychiatric provider will interpret your results in the context of your clinical history and screening responses. At your follow up appointment, they will discuss a summary of findings and tailored next steps, which may include treatment recommendations, further evaluation, or referrals.
